Mogu Mogu

25% grape juice with nata de coco
The wonder that is Mogu Mogu. Yeah! Say it twice coz it’s nice. Hoho. Ang corny lang. hehe. Heard it last year pa but I just remembered about it yesterday on the way home after our thesis making. It got 5 flavors I think (grapes/mango/lychee/strawberry/pineapple). The thing with it is that it has bits of Nata de coco in it , feels like you’re drinking Fruitas + Zagu/pearl shakes, thus the name Mogu Mogu (Japanese term for “to chew”). It's "Nata de coco blended with fruit juice" and not the other way around.
I don’t usually like grape juices but this one went well, unlike some that tasted like syrups I take whenever I got coughs back when I was a child. It has this concentrated juice like flavor, which i like. Now I can't wait to try the other flavors! =] It costs 28php in 7eleven.

Lovin' Friday

It’s been weeks after my last post. Anyway, there’s nothing new besides my usual routine of school-home-school. I really need a time to meet up with my hs friends! But they’re busy for graduation. Tss. Sawa na ko sa mukha ng mga blockmates ko. Chos! Haha!
Last Friday was a breath of fresh air from my usual days. No classes because of EDSA day. Woop! Hooray for freedom and unity of Filipino people! Anyway, me and mama we’re supposed to go to Baguio for a day because she also has her leave for 3 days this weekend but we realized that it’s a waste of money for the bus tickets if we’re just gonna go back and forth. Hotels there were fully-booked already and there’s no choice for us but to go home at night so we decided not to continue. Besides, we have to save up money for our “Bengkek” trip. Haha!
Good thing our thesis meeting was moved the next day so I got to go out instead with mama. We first went to San Juan de Dios for her monthly check-up. She just got her lab test and her doctor wasn’t there so we decided to go to MOA after. Mama was already hungry because of fasting for the test so we immediately ate after arriving at Tokyo Tokyo. Haven’t been there for a while now and just noticed that they changed their exteriors. It’s a lot more nice now than before when it looks gloomy.
We tried their Bonburi bowls. In the poster, it was a big bowl FULL to top with rice and beef/pork/chicken. Well at least it lived up with the picture’s big bowl and full of toppings. Haha! It tastes good too. I had the chicken bowl and it got eggs with it while mama had the beef that is topped up with vegetables in it.

The "Bubble Freeze" from Go Nuts Donuts. Lovin' it! They offer it at its introductory price for 20php/cup. Those "lychee pearls" pops in your mouth like a bubble which explains the. very cool. haha! They have two flavors : these one above was the Buko Slush, and they have the other one called Mango Mambo which i prefer more.

Candies from Aji Ichiban. My new fave candy store! They've got more choices! =]

After eating we decided to just watch movies. We chose Black Swan even though I already have a downloaded copy of it. Too bad that “Just go with it” was already showing but was only scheduled in the evening; it’s in the premiere cinema so maybe it’s the first day. I never thought that Black Swan was freaky in a way. Haha! I love how the story was build up. The storyline was pretty nice, it makes the viewers think and it was never predictable in any way. And Natalie Portman did a great job in portraying her role. I think she deserves an award for that. I never thought that frustrations can get that intense and “psychotic “. Haha. But till now I don’t know the connection of that bruises in her back to what she became.

After the movie we strolled around and went to the department store to search for shoes to buy. I was looking for that Toms kind of footwear or any flats. But we ended up with nothing. (Choosy nga kasi. Haha. )We then just went to SM Southmall after. I like the new vibe of that mall, though some parts are not yet upgraded. The new placement of the establishments and new standard looks of the stores was a good change. And it became more spacious. So still we spent hours going around the department store. ( Ang choosy lang talaga. Haha!) And so I ended up buying those sandals with zippers in the back. After that we had dinner at Kenny Rogers.
My favorite platter, coleslaw on the side. =]

Their fro-yo was not bad at all. 35php for a cup + 10php for the toppings (mangos/brownies).
Whatta day. I love spending the day with Mama. Fun lang because we both love food! and a little bit shopping in the side. Hehe. On Monday, I’m back to my books. Tss.

TGIF: Last friday night

Last Friday, our block had dinner at Tramway, Timog for the birthday treat of 4 of our classmates. It was my first time dining there and also my first time to be in Timog area. So imagine how lost I was while we're going there. haha! Good thing our AudTheo quiz for 4pm was cancelled so we get to go there early for it was already fully booked that day. We arrived around 5:20 pm and the place was still empty. The staff said that the buffet dinner will start to be served at 6pm pa so we still have to wait. But it was already served even before 6pm. Maybe cause 23 persons were already waiting. haha! We occupied 2 long tables while they also have a function room for bigger groups and also a private room with 1 round table, or maybe 2. There are 3 tables in the middle with 1 long table for the main dishes and 2 round tables for the fruits and soups. They also have self service water in the counter.
I filled my plate with small servings of each dish and only a spoonful of rice. haha! That has always been my technique when we go to buffets. A little rice/no rice at all to save extra space for more food. haha! They have orange chicken(?), pancit, fried rice, steamed fish, chopseuy, maki, sushi, butchi, fried dumplings, siomai, clams, donut ball?, bread and 2-3 more that I can't remember. In the fruits table, they got papaya, red and yellow watermelon, melon, pineapple, and salads like buko pandan and macaroni salad. The pandan tastes good but the macaroni looks dry and doesn't have any other in it like carrots maybe. I didn't try it so I don't know if it tasted good, but my classmate didn't get to finish hers, so there. I also haven't try the soups because I was already full after 2 rounds and just munched on the fruits while we're chatting and taking a rest.
Warning: If you ever see this small cup and don't know what it is, don't get it! I thought it was kind of a pudding but obviously I was wrong. I don't know what it's called but I think it's a white of an egg based on the taste. Very bland. Well, maybe it's a chinese food or there's something you need to add to make it taste BETTER. IDK. bah! whatever. haha!

my fave! the butchi I fought for. haha! joke. E kasi naman in demand! It only lasts on the table for a minute or two after refilling. Kailangan on the lookout ka. haha!

healthy eating. =]

All in all, it was worth it. They charge 338php (212php for children 4ft. below) during Sunday lunch and holidays while 205php (138php) for regular days. It's recommended for those who like the taste of Chinese food. They also constantly replenish the food so you don't really have to wait long for your favorites. According to some, the house specialty is their siomai. But my personal favorites are butchi and fried dumplings. The ambience is also nice for get-togethers. Not too shabby but not too classy. Around 6:30pm the place is already full. We went out before 8pm and the outside is already full of people waiting to be seated. It's my first time there and it’s no wonder they attract a lot of customers because they have affordable price.

happy us! =]

Mockingjay

Mockingjay would be the 3rd and last book of the series. You know, it’s not recommended to be read while you're depressed or problematic. Haha! Just like how I read it after a 2-hr. Advacc quiz, how depressing. Haha! *Chos!*

The book started from the ruins and the result of everything that happened in Book 2. From what happened to District 12 to the introduction of a new district. Uprisings from different districts and the counterattacks of the Capitol to the rebellious people filled the plot. The no-waste-no-want district, District 13, was introduced and Katniss was continuously on the process of recovery from all the experience she had and how she coped up with a life apart from Peeta. So this time, Gale was her confidante. But then all of these were plotted from the start to let Katniss lead the people against the Capitol. Katniss has to be the Mockingjay.

Spontaneity defines Katniss. Taking orders from someone wasn't really her thing. They were like playing mind games with each other. If only they would tell what they want to happen, everything will fall into its place diba? Tsk.tsk. Well okay, there's no excitement if that'll happen. haha! I like how unpredictable the story goes. Just like when Peeta got back in the scene. That was the best surprise part for me. =] Then it was starting to get slow and boring in the end part. Idk, or maybe I was just losing my focus because I of school matters. haha! It's already given that more death will happen in the last book. How a lot of people in the group had their life taken after attacking the Capitol. The last part/epilogue lacked on the info about Gale. Collins should've put further detail on it, besides he's already one of the main characters. Nevertheless, it was a good end for the popular series. Hooray for the star-crossed lovers! =]

Catching Fire

HG fever is on! lol. Got to borrow the 2nd book (Catching Fire) last monday after returning the 1st one. I think I'd be finishing the series without buying a single one (sorry Suzanne Collins), besides I think most of the bookstores are out of stock. Anyway, I'm forced to finish it in the shortest possible time because of upcoming quizzes. psh!

spoilers?

More sweet moments are injected to the story and a LOT more shocking revelations *last chapter* and events was presented! This would be, by far, the best book that keeps the reader super bitin Gale now had more exposure in the first few chapters. woop! But then, I really feel sorry for Peeta. The "poison berry act" of the two brought various reactions from the Capitol and the people of different districts especially those in district 8. The consequence of their act was backed on to them by being in the Hunger Game for the 2nd time around. *sorry, what a spoiler*

Well this would be the 75th Hunger Games, and every 25th they celebrate it by putting more twists in. the Quarter Quell Game. More allies for them this time. Peeta making another big issue, Katniss making sure that Peeta survives, alliances with 2nd thoughts for some, stronger Careers, turning back from the Capitol, the signs, and a lot more "WHAT?/NO!/SERIOUSLY?" moments. haha! Book 2 is just content-loaded and action-packed. Plus the confessions. And the ending!!! wth! Now I don't know when will I ever read the 3rd book with all these school stuffs. tsk tsk tsk...
